Customer Review: Motorized Mini Pedel Exercise Bike
Great for a disabled person that is trying to build up their strength in their upper and lower extremities.
Customer Review: seems to be helping
I bought this pedal exerciser for my mother to help her rehab after a stroke. Medicare and regular insurance only pays so for much rehab (surprise surprise), so I decided we needed to pick up the ball after they dropped it). She has very limited use of her left shoulder, arm, hand and fingers. There are non-motorized and there are motorized models. I decided that motorized was needed. I believed if her right arm (her good arm) fatigued too early from trying to pedal the non-motorized models, her left arm would not get the time needed to rehab. My idea was to wake-up the left arm and to get it moving was the best way. I decided on this motorized model as it was less expensive than the other motorized models out there. I was keeping my fingers crossed. A small note here.. this model does not have the REVERSE motion as some of the expensive models , BUT this is easily remedied by going to the other side of the small table she has it on, and using it from the back end. This way of using it will give her the reverse motion, so her shoulders and arms get the exercise in a different range of motion. I had her start on a slower speed with 2 -5 minute sessions. One in the morning and one at night. I slowly increased her time over 4 weeks. She is currently up to 20 minutes. In just a few weeks she has already noticed a small difference in her grip strength. In the beginning her left hand would slip off the pedal quite frequently. Now, it seems to stay on the entire 10-20 minutes she is using it. Although this is a small change, every little improvement is welcomed. Hopefully more changes will begin. It certainly is worth trying. At the same time her right arm is also getting a workout. The model seems strong. No problems.

Whether you're a dedicated competition rider or simply out to enjoy the fresh air and exercise, any biker needs to consider cycling equipment. From shoes with carbon soles to a cap and the glasses that protect your eyes from too much sun light, whatever your need and experience level, there's gear to suit.

Some more peculiar items of cycling equipment include special frames and even saddle adjustments; these technical components are also the most expensive ones you can get given the fact that they actually ensure a change in bike design and structure. The latest frame models have sloping designs and they can be found at more accessible prices on the Internet where suppliers face a tougher competition.

Shock absorbers are the elements of cycling equipment that can be added on the frames of mountain bikes to reduce the impact on rough terrain. They come in a variety of models including front or full suspension types, and the most advanced are highly sophisticated so as to be used for a wide range of riding purposes. Manufacturers have come up with plenty of protection items for mountain biking, and these elements of cycling equipment vary from simple knee and elbow pads to plates used for arms and the back. An even more popular protection item here is the face helmet that resembles those used in motocross; yet it is much lighter and better ventilated as well.

The existence of a wide range of saddles enables any cyclist to improve the riding conditions by the use of an advanced item of cycling equipment. Those people who ride the bike for shorter distances usually prefer cushioned saddles that are a lot larger than those used for professional performances. For the latter, saddles become the part of the cycling equipment that need to enable an ample leg movement. This very kind of narrow seat is preferred by race cyclists who usually bend over and distribute their weight more evenly between the saddle and the handlebars.

There are some very common components of the cycling equipment that are often regarded as optional accessories meant for utility bicycles. For instance, commuters who go to work by bike can definitely benefit from the use of chain-guards that prevent clothes staining because of the oil on the chin. Moreover, special baskets mounted at the front of the bike and rear racks as well could prove very useful when carrying goods. And last but not least, though not included in the conventional cycling equipment, a rear-mounted child seat can be very practical, just like additional saddles to transport children.
